Emotional rollercoaster! This book captivated me from the beginning to the end. As one of the reviewers of our book club, I was very pleased with this selection. Joi and Jaylen's love for each other is real and realistic. There is no fairy tale here. The characters were fun, down to earth and caring. The relationship between Joi and Alexis was very touching. This action filled page turner kept me up. It made me laugh and cry because I could relate to it. The poetry was on point and the delivery of it was right on time. I wanted to know immediately what was going to happen next. The intimate scenes were steamy enough but not raunchy. It was just enough to peak the imagination. Overall, an excellent read. I see great things happening with this author. Bravo to the author! Bravo & I am recommending this read to our club.

Find Joy In PainThis book was great, I could not put it down. There are so many things that I can relate to in this book. From some of the characters, and life experiences. I can't wait for the next book. I need to know what is going to happen next. I did not want the book to end. I laughed, cried, and just wanted more. This woman did a great job on this book. I know you will definately see more of her writing, hopefully a movie, with her. Great job!!!!!! Great for a book club.

This book is destined to become a BLOCKBUSTER MINI-SERIES!!! Ms. Roslyn M. Wyche-Hamilton is one toIn her debut as an author, Ms. Roslyn M. Wyche-Hamilton provides brilliant insight of African-American relationships amongst family, friends and colleagues across various socio-economic backgrounds. While Joi and Jaylen are the central characters of this book, Ms. Hamilton does not fall short in making the other characters as significant, since they were all created with a "place to grow to". She manages to dispel perceived stereotypes (with more than a few surprises), while at the same time creating the characters with an intimate familiarity that causes the reader to connect with the various characters as someone they, too, similarly love(d), like(d) or despise(d) in their own lives. I simply LOVED! the "floetic poetry" she used to set the scenes...
While every book has a beginning, this book has NO END... I read this book in less than 5 hours, and actually became MAD that the book ended! I can't wait for the sequel... or TV mini-series!
